The provisional WorldSBK 2024 calendar is finally revealed!
The provisional MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship calendar for 2024 has been released, with two new circuits set to enter action.
The provisional calendar for the 2024 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship has been published with many new features. Two new circuits, a slightly different order and all the great classics, 2024 will be another memorable season for countless reasons. We take a closer look at the 12-round schedule.
The Phillip Island circuit will open the season as usual from February 23 to 25, in the presence of WorldSSP. The Official Test will take place on February 19 and 20, the week before the Australian Round. A month later, from March 22 to 24, the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will have a new place on the program ahead of the first European event; an Official Test will take place on March 14 and 15, one week before the event. The round will kick off the WorldSSP300 season. From April 19 to 21, the iconic Assen circuit will once again welcome large numbers of spectators and spectacular races to the Netherlands.
The fourth Round of the season takes place from June 14-16 for the first of two stops in Italy at the Misano circuit, while the British Round takes place at Donington Park a month later, from July 12-14 , maintaining its usual summer schedule. This will be one of the first consecutive rounds since the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic will be on the program for a fourth consecutive season a week later, from July 19 to 21.
The second half of the season will begin in August, after two weekends off, with the Round of Portugal at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, from August 9-11. Two weeks later, Hungary will feature on the WorldSBK calendar for the first time since 1990, at the brand new Balaton Park Circuit located just an hour southwest of Budapest and on the shores of Lake Balaton, the world's largest 'Central Europe. Two weeks later, the paddock will stop at Nevers Magny-Cours, from September 06 to 08.
The second new circuit, the Cremona circuit in northern Italy, will host the first of the final three rounds from September 20-22. The circuit is half an hour from the medieval center of Cremona. One week later, return to Spain for the penultimate round of the year at the picturesque and unique MotorLand Aragon, while two weeks later the final round awaits further south at the Jerez circuit – Angel Nieto , from October 11 to 13.
The Balaton Park and Cremona circuits are two new circuits on the WorldSBK calendar and are both subject to homologation. For more details on the categories and their respective calendars, click here.
