For its final destination of the year, the French Historic Circuit Championship returns to the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit, which this year hosts the final round of this five-round championship. On track, the Dutch Supersixties grid, featuring pre-1966 GT and Touring cars, will reinforce the 19 races that make up the French Championship.
After stopping in Dijon-Prenois, Lédenon, the Paul Ricard Circuit and the Val de Vienne, the French Historic Circuit Championship is preparing to join another legendary circuit that hosted the F1 French Grand Prix. A perfect place, therefore, to rewrite history in the footsteps of the greatest! The last Historic Tour of the season out of the five that make up the 2025 French Championship calendar, this meeting in the Nièvre region promises to be special in its configuration. Usually placed at the heart of the season, this year this meeting will put an end to the rankings of the four categories constituting the French Historic Circuit Championship. The ten grids entered will share the track with the famous Dutch Supersixties series, bringing together more than 30 pre-1966 GT/Touring cars in two 40-minute sprint races.
TOWARDS A HISTORIC RECORD FOR THE ENDURANCE CATEGORY
This final round of the Historic Tour promises to be a very busy weekend, with 20 sprint races and a 90-minute endurance event to close the day on Saturday. A packed program, with some particularly full grids on the eve of the winter break. The participation record will even be broken this weekend for the 200 km Historic Tour, which is about to reach almost 50 entries for this unprecedented finale! The Lotus Trophy will also be full with 43 cars entered, including some familiar faces on the grid: César TROIGROS, a 38-year-old Michelin-starred chef, will be on track at the wheel of a 1964 Lotus Seven, while actor Arnaud TSAMERE (50) will also be taking part, in a 1991 Caterham.
THE FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
In the Single-Seater/Prototype category, François Belle (Formula Ford Historic) retains the lead with 305 points, but loses ground to Axel Castillou (Formula Ford Kent), after his second place in Race 1 and third place in Race 2 at Val de Vienne. The latter, winner of Race 1 and second in Race 2, now has 265 points. Mathieu Boissière follows very closely on the same field with 254 points.
In the pre-90 GT/Touring car category, Alain Lagache (Maxi 2L) remains the leader of the standings after two wins during the final race weekend. He has 295 points, 33 points ahead of Dominique Vulliez (Lotus Trophy), who has 262. Nicolas Beloou, also entered in the Lotus Trophy, climbs onto the podium with 249 points thanks to a second place in Race 1 and a victory in Race 2 during the fourth round.
In the post-90 GT/Touring category, Yannick Blanc leads the standings with 282 points, just one point ahead of Frédéric Chaulan (Youngtimers GTi Cup), thanks to his victory in Race 1 of the Roadster Pro Cup and his fourth place in Race 2 at Le Vigeant. Julien Nougaret (Roadster Pro Cup) retains his third place with 254 points.
Finally, in Historic Endurance, Sébastien Mathieu escaped alone in the lead after a victory in a wild race during the 200 km of the Historic Tour Val de Vienne. He has 141 points, 25 more than Jean-Pierre Destombes, who made a strong comeback after an incident at the first corner that forced him to start from the back of the pack. In third place, a new duo climbed onto the podium: Julien Grenet and Christian Danne, with 106 points.
