The Directors of the Circuit Nevers Magny-Cours pay tribute to the legend of French motorcycle racing: Patrick PONS.

A redoubtable competitor, winner of the Trophée du Million in 1977 at the circuit of Magny-Cours and the first French Motorbike World Champion in 1979, who at the peak of his career was a victim of a terrible accident during the British Grand Prix, at Silverstone. He died on August 12th 1980, at the age of 27.

At 11h00 on Saturday 3rd October 2015, Suite n°5, situated on the 2nd floor of the main circuit building, will be dedicated to his memory.  This will be attended by the press and personalities including the President of the Fédération Française de Motocyclisme Jacques BOLLE, the rider Christian SARRON, Jean-Pierre BOIRET President of the Patrick PONS fan club, Florence COTAR RENAUDAT treasurer of the Patrick PONS fan club, and Louis BULLE and Hugo CLERE, talented riders sponsored by the Patrick PONS fan club.
