3 YAMAHA R1s ON THE PODIUM OF THE FIRST RACE OF THE 12 H OF NEVERS MAGNY-COURS
During the first race of the 12 H of Nevers Magny-Cours the riders had to make use of all their abilities in a delicate balancing act to stay upright on the track. In atrocious weather conditions, the bikes started the 6 hour race behind the safety car. Very quickly the Yamaha Viltaïs Experience team took command of the race while the Pecable Racing Team had already lost time due to a fall during the warm-up lap. After 3 hours of racing, bike number 51, the Motostand Endurance entry and winner of the 2016 race, was already in 3rd place but two laps down on the Yamaha of Viltaïs Expérience. The German team, Aprilia Grebenstein, spent time in the pits after a fall, and re-joined the race in 15th place after having fought for a place in the top 3. Seigneur Motorsport on the BMW S 1000 RR, who also organises track days, maintained the pace for 4 hours of racing at 6 laps down from the leader. In the 5th hour bike 51 fell and didn’t continue and therefore team number 333 found itself untroubled up on the 1st step of the podium after a flawless 156 laps. 2nd place was taken by the Moto Team 95 with its new team, the first time they have participated in the 12 H of Nevers Magny-Cours. To their great surprise the number 93 of the Sky Motos Vitesse team came in 3rd, 5 laps down from the winners.
See you again tomorrow at 12.00 for the start of the 2nd race.
